Dear Members

I came across this poem on an Easter card recently.

The Easter Story

      When Jesus grew to be a man,
      He told the people of God's plan
      And let them know He was God's son
      Through miracles and good deeds done.

      But some were jealous of the Lord
      And came to get Him, armed with swords.
      They found where He had gone to pray
      And took Him from His friends that day.

      The Romans held a trial where
      Old Pilate said, "... Not MY affair!"
      And so the people yelled and cried,
      "Let Jesus now be crucified!"

      And Jesus died so we'd be saved,
      Then He was buried in a cave,
      But when three days had come and gone
      The Lord arose again at dawn.

      He told His friends, "Don't be afraid;
      I've conquered death, the price is paid.
      Don't worry now, I live, you see--
      My triumph sets the whole world free!"

      Then Jesus told His special friends,
      "Though I must go, my love won't end.
      I'll send my Holy Spirit there,
      To guide and keep you in my care."

      So may He bless this Easter Day,
      And everything you do and say;
      Remember that He's with us still--
      He loves you and He always will!

I do hope you have a great Easter as you spend time in fellowship and with family and friends. Yet how more important it is to respond to Easter.

Easter is the greatest demonstration of God's love for us. It was love that lead God to send His Son as redeemer to die on Calvary, it was love that caused Jesus to take our place on that cross, and it is love that moves the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts today. Such love demands a response. God has planned our redemption from death, paid for our forgiveness from sin and prompted our conscience concerning our wrong. We may know what God has done through Easter, but what have we done about it?

In the words of that chorus :-

        There's a way back to God
        From the dark paths of sin;
        There's a door that is open
        And you may go in;
        At Calvary's cross is where you begin,
        When you come as a sinner to Jesus.

 250th Anniversary Service

4th June in Drumhillery

On Tuesday 4th June at 8pm there will be a special guest service in Drumhillery. This is to mark 250 years of witness. It was on this day in 1752 that 10 local men met to construct the first meeting house from 'Sods and thatch'. The service will include special speaker and music. There will be a historical display and a collection will be taken up for the Repair and Development Project which the congregation is embarking on. Your support will be much appreciated.
