Are you ready for Christmas? Yes I know I'm a bit early, but in the coming weeks it is something we will frequently be asked by friends. Depending on who we are, there are different things at the forefront of our minds in the run up to Christmas. What would I like as a present? It is not easy to keep our focus on the important things at the best of times, much less at Christmas. We can easily fill our lives and yet never know the true fullness Paul prayed his readers would experience that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith ... that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19 It is easy to consider carefully what gifts we should give to others and yet treat lightly the gift that God offers us. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 We may respond to invitations to parties or dinners and yet leave unanswered the greatest invitation we will ever receive. Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me... out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." John 7:37-38 We have many plans to make. Yet the greatest plan ever, was God's plan which lead to the first Christmas when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son ... to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Galations 4:4-5 How important are the words of Christ Jesus came to Galilee ... saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." Mark 1:14-15 May these life giving and life changing words be at the forefront of our minds, and in the midst of our conversations, this Christmas. Jonathan Curry

Union of Drumhillery and 2nd Keady 30th Anniversary Dinner 7th December 2001 at 7.45pm in
2nd Keady Hall Cost £8.50 Visitation of congregation by Presbytery Tuesday 4 Dec at 8pm, with supper afterwards. All members of the congregation are encouraged to attend this important meeting that only takes place every ten years or so.
Drumhillery's 250th Anniversary As you are aware the congregation are planing to produce a 250th Anniversary Church Magazine next year. So far the requests for information in the news sheet have produced no results. For information, photoes, etc to be included in the magazine we need to have them by the end of March 2002 at the latest. We would encourage you to consider if there are any items or memories you would consider helpful to the production of the anniversary magazine. Colin Hopps and Rev Curry |
