Early History From around 1745 people in the area sought to establish a congregation. Following a request to the Church of Scotland Rev Dr. Thomas Clarke came and preached his first sermon on 3rd July, 1748. He did not settle in the area and accepted a call to minister in Ballybay. After the members built the first meeting house in 1752 they called Rev James McCauley in 1753. Plans are curently being made to mark 250 years since the first meething house was errected at Drumhillery. (Anniversary Plans) |
